Good, relevant question: How are you planning to deal with the holidays? Decide now.
Are you going to keep to your regular hypoglycemia diet, or are you going to just chuck it until the new year arrives? Either way, don't judge yourself—make it a conscious choice, and decide now to live with the consequences of your choice without complaint.
One last question in 2008: will you be attending a dessert party over the holidays? The challenge is tough... here are some strategies to deal with it.
>Make sure you're not hungry when you arrive. That will at least delay your temptation.
>Take a snack with you. Try to make it something you really enjoy. Knowing you have it with you will make you feel better about saying NO to all the sweets.
>If you are really worried about staying away from the treats, give yourself permission to choose one treat. Make it a favorite and really enjoy it. Then stop and eat the snack you brought.
Until next time…eat well, be well, live well!
